데라 족보(창 11:27-32)의 선교적 기능- 내러티브 관점을 중심으로 -

본 논문은 창세기 11장 27-32절에 나오는 데라 족보의 구조적인 위치를 통해 선교적 기능을 밝히고자 한다. 셈 족보(창 11:10-26)에 이어서 데라 족보에는 세 아들(아브람, 나홀, 하란)이 반복해서 기록되어 있다. 내러티브 관점에서 볼 때 텍스트는 외적 초점화(external focalization) 방법을 통해 등장인물 중심으로 사건에 대한 객관적 묘사가 이루어지며, 정보의 노출과 때로는 정보축소의 기능을 제시한다. 정보의 노출은 반복을 통해서 강화되 며 정보축소로 인하여 간결하게 처리되기도 한다. 데라 족보는 구조적으로 셈 족보의 연결이라기보다는 분리나 단절의 가능성을 보여준다. 후자의 이 유는 본문이 아브람 이야기의 서두 기능이 아니라는 것과 데라 이야기의 새로운 시작이며, 그의 죽음 기록이 갑자기 등장하는 것도 단순한 경우는 아니다. 또한, 데라 족보는 처음부터 데라를 중심으로 기술되었으나 그에 대한 무게 중심은 급격하게 감소한다. 비록 가나안 땅에 가려는 그의 의도가 보였지만 그 일을 수행하지 못하고 하란에서 죽음을 맞이하기 때문이다. 결과적으로 데라 족보는 자신에게 주어진 사명이나 과업을 반드시 완성해야 하는 중요한 선교적 의미가 있음을 밝히고 있다. 하나님으로부터 누가 소명 을 받았느냐도 중요하지만 누가 그 일을 성취했느냐가 최종 형태의 본문을 읽는 독자에게 의미있게 다가온다.
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to reveal the missionary function through the structural position of the Terah genealogy in Genesis 11:27-32. Following the descendants of Shem (Gen. 11:10-26), three sons of Terah(Abram, Nahor, Haran) are repeatedly recorded. From a narrative point of view, the text is objectively portrayed by means of an external focalization method. The method’s focus is on the characters and it presents the functions of in- formation exposure or reduction. The exposure of information in the text is reinforced in terms of repetition and the reduction of information is handled in a concise manner due to the paralipsis. The Terah genealogy showed the possibility of separation or disconnection rather than a structural connection of the Shem genealogy. The reason of the separation of the Terah genealogy is that the text is not an introduction to Abram’s story, but a new beginning of the story of Terah that deals with the sudden appearance of Terah’s death record. In addition, the Terah genealogy has been described from the begin- ning with Terah as the main character, but his role decreases sharply. Although Terah’s intention was to go to the land of Canaan, Terah was un- able to finish the mission because he died in Haran. Accordingly, the Terah genealogy reveals that it is an important missional meaning that must fulfill the mission or task given to Terah. It is significant to the reader who reads the text of the final form whether who accomplished the task rather than who was called from God.
