Abstract
This research explores the relationship between spiritual experiences and healing experiences, asserting that these two are essentially interchangeable and cannot be meaningfully separated. The focus is on the group counseling module known as the “Spiritual Healing Retreat,” a therapeutic program developed by Tai-Ki Chung. The article contends that the retreat encompasses both spiritual and healing dimensions. Rooted in Tai-Ki Chung’s personal healing journey, the program is based on his theoretical beliefs. One of the central questions this research addresses is whether the retreat can be considered truly spiritual. The article reviews existing research on this subject, examining studies of the program’s goals and principles. It also highlights case studies from actual participants who have experienced the “Spiritual Healing Retreat.” Furthermore, the article discusses the distinction between religion and spirituality, emphasizing that spirituality is not confined to religious doctrine but can be understood as an open concept, capable of encompassing a wide range of ordinary experiences.
