국내 대학의 외국인 유학생 전담학과 현황과 과제

Abstract

Korean language curriculum by analyzing departments for foreign students at domestic universities. To this end, the operation status and curriculum of departments with a high proportion of foreign students were examined in detail. As a result, Most departments for foreign students defined the eligibility for university application as TOPIK level 3, and about half of the departments with Korean language subjects in their major subjects and those departments were related to Korean language education.In addition, most departments operated under the undergraduate or department system, but some departments operated a College of Liberal Studies to help foreign students improve their Korean language skills, promote understanding of Korean society and culture, and adapt to college life. However, it was pointed out that basic Korean classes and major Korean classes were insufficient, that Korean classes were insufficient and systematic, and that Korean language courses for academic purposes overlapped with departments for foreign students, university-affiliated Korean language education institutions, and liberal arts universities. Accordingly, it proposed a plan to open a departments for foreign students as a College of Liberal Studies, composition of teaching guidelines based on foreign admission standards and securing minimum Korean language class time, and linkage between a departments for foreign students and a university-affiliated Korean language education institution, and a Korean language curriculum for academic purposes.
