This paper demonstrates how, even in the most fundamental domains such as physical space-time and the human body, the categorization of the world into meaning is both empirical and asymmetric, with Russian as a case study. This approach is informed by key findings in cognitive science, which suggest that much of our cognition is unconscious, that our mind is grounded in embodied experiences, and that it is predominantly organized through conceptual metaphors. Specifically, the paper introduces the concept of a ‘constructicon’ to describe constructions as units of meaning within sentences. By analyzing vocabulary and the meanings of constructions in areas such as space and time (as physical phenomena), sensory perception (as a bodily capability), and quantity, this study explores both the universal and specific aspects of the linguistic worldview in Russian.
