충남 보령의 永保亭 題詠詩 연구

Abstract

Yeongbojeong[永保亭], a historic place that was located in fortress of naval headquarters[Sugunyeong, 水軍營] in Boryeong[保寧], Chungnam[忠南] province in the era of Joseon dynasty, was also a good creative background of numerous recitative poems[jeyeongshi, 題詠詩] owing to its beautiful landscape. The seawater inflow of Cheonsu Bay[淺水灣] passing through narrow port forms a round shape of lake under topographical surroundings including a series of mountain peaks. That is why Yeongbojeong and its neighborhood showed off an extraordinary landscape that involves scenic mountains, river, lake and sea. Yeongbojeong became better known for recitative poems written by Bak Eun[朴誾] in the early era of Joseon dynasty, because five pieces of Bak's “Arbor behind Sugunyeong” were so highly evaluated that they could be recognized as a good model of poetry to fully express ‘extraordinariness’ which is a feature of Yeongbojeong’s landscape. Such a high reputation of these pieces can be easily demonstrated, simply because many of recitative poems about Yeongbojeong admire the original brilliance of Bak’s poetry after Bak was dead. In succession to Bak, Yi An-nul[李安訥] created recitative poems about Yeongbojeong to characterize its ‘extraordinariness’, but revealed an evil practice of ‘difficult reading.’ Besides, other follow-up poets failed to acquire individual aspects of Bak's poetry, but showed a tendency to rely on cliches borrowed from other writers or any customary formula of complete significance comprising a poem. Rather, post-Bak poets created notable recitative poems in that they pursued esthetics distinguished from (or beyond) extraordinariness shown in Bak's poetry. Some exemplary works of those poets include poems of Yi Chun-yeong[李春英] to express a noble spirit in ordinary life, or poems of Yang Gyeong-wu[梁慶遇] and Jeong Rae-gyo[鄭來僑] to lyrically weave a good distinctive character of Tang-style poetry[唐詩].
