沈翊雲 漢詩에 나타난 문학적 지향과 비극적 체험의 격차

이 논문은 18세기의 불운한 시인 沈翊雲이, 대략 1759~1765년 사이의 ‘身廢流離’ 기간에 겪었던 비극적 체험과 비애의 詩學, 나아가 이러한 시 세계가 한국한시사에서 지닐 수 있는 특수한 의미를 조명한 것이다. 연구 자료는 『百一集』과 『百一年集』을 활용하였다. 본론의 전반부에서는 ‘身廢流離의 비극적 체험과 생애의 곡절’, ‘문학적 지향과 체험적 감성의 간극’을 차례로 살폈다. 靑松 沈氏 명문가에서 성장한 심익운은 조선의 儒者 문인답게 ‘中正和平’하며 ‘優遊和暢’한 경지, 즉 公認 가능한 시학을 지향했다. 하지만 영조의 왕권 계승을 부정했던 비극적 가문사에 휘말리면서 세상의 지탄과 손가락질을 받는 처지로 급전직하했고, 이 추락의 상황에서 ‘나약[懦弱]하고 산만[汗漫]하고 애원(哀怨)하고 분격(憤激)’하는 심정을 분출하였다. 문학적 이상과 현격한 대조를 벌어나간 이 시기 그의 한시는 제왕들이 극히 싫어했던 ‘噍殺之音’을 연상시킬 만한 슬프고 쓰라린 것이었지만, 오히려 儒家 시학의 臨界 지대와 그 너머의 세계를 감지하도록 해주었다. 이어 본론의 후반부에서는 ‘不平鳴의 시적 수용과 噍殺之音의 흔적’을 조명하면서 심익운 한시의 비극성과 그것이 주는 感鳴을 설명하고자 하였다. 비애를 다루는 시인의 솜씨는 감동적인 슬픔의 시학을 생성시켰으며, 특히 古詩와 歌曲[樂府] 장르를 활용함으로써 체험과 감성이 긴절히 호응하는 시 세계를 구축하고 있었다. 그의 이러한 시 세계는 작품으로서의 빼어남과 그 시대의 특성을 아울러 보여준다는 점에서 주목할 만한 가치가 충분하며, 18세기에 다발적으로 발생한 疎外의 시학을 해명하는 근거가 될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This research investigated the tragic experience and sorrowful poetics(詩學) that Shim Ik-un, an unfortunate poet of the 18th century, experienced during the period of ‘destruction’ around between 1759-1765, and the special significance of such poetic world on literary history(文學史). As the research data, this research mainly utilized『Baeguiljib(Baekiljip 百一集)』. In the first part of the text, this research investigated in order of ‘the tragic experience of destruction and winding of life’, ‘contrast(對照) between poetic intention and experiential emotion’. Shim Ik-un, who grew in a noble family, aimed for a ‘right, peaceful, and elegant’ literature as a confucian literati(儒家文人). However, as he was swept away into a tragic family history(家門史), who denied succession of royal authority of Youngjo(英祖), he was suddenly changed to a position that received people’s criticism and finger points. In this situation of fall, he wrote ‘weak[懦弱], pleading(哀怨), and enraged(憤激)’ sino-korean poems. During this period, his sino-korean poems were as sorrow as reminding of pathetic crying of bugs(Choswejieum 噍殺之音)’, however they well show the literary individuality and the characteristic of the period. Then, in the latter part, this research intended to explain the tragic trait of Shim Ik-un’s sino-korean poems and the impression(感鳴) of them by analyzing the ‘actual aspect of pathetic and tragic poems’. His poems were excellent in expressing sorrow, particularly, he created the poetic world where experience and emotion acutely respond by utilizing old style poetry(古體詩) and Yuefu(樂府) genres. His poetic world this way can be a basis to explain the poetics of alienation(疎外) that frequently occurred in several poets of the 18th century.
