우리나라 기초지방자치단체의 국제화 현황과 공무원 인식수준의 비교분석
A Comparative Analysis of the Status of Internationalization and the Perception Level of Public Officials in Korea's Basic Local Government

Abstract
This paper aims to examine the characteristics of international exchange and the differences in the level of internationalization in terms of the public official's awareness of local autonomies empirically and comparatively. The international exchange as a means of internationalization of local government has increased dramatically since 1990s. This trend has been affected both inaugurating the local autonomy system internally and emerging trend of globalization internationally. Also, the number and ratio of international exchange are different among local autonomies. That is, the ratio of municipal government(si) international exchange is very higher than that of other local governments(gu/gun) relatively. Then, there are statistically meaningful differences in the official's awareness of overall internationalization level as well as the international competitiveness, the openness of overseas culture, and the importance of international task among local authorities. Namely the public servants who are working in the municipal government(si) recognize their government's level of internationalization much higher than other governments(gu/gun)' officials aware the degree of their governments' internationalization.
