초록

Abstract

The paper analyzes whether the adoption and diffusion of citizens' participatory budgeting system is related with ideology (progressive or conservative) in Korean local governments, if yes, with what variables and how the ideology interacts in affecting the adoption and diffusion of the system and through what mechanism the ideology affects the adoption and diffusion. The result of the analysis indicates that mayors'progressive ideology has positive effect on the adoption and diffusion of the system in local governments, especially interacting with the ideology and policy direction of central government, the ideology and adoption of the system of neighboring governments, and time.
