본 연구는 생태주의 자아에 대한 논쟁들 검토함으로써 도덕교육이 생태주의 자아실현을 위해 어떤 노력을 해야 하는지 탐구하는 데 목적이 있다. 생태주의 자아 논증은 공감에 기초한 심리학적 접근이고 특수성이 결여된 보편윤리이며 인간 자아와 자연의 차이를 구분하지 못하는 전체론이라는 비판을 받고 있지만, 존재들의 상대적 자율성을 인정하고 친밀성보다는 보편적인 윤리에 기초한 일체화와 생태학적 감수성을 옹호한다는 측면에서는 강점을 가진다. 이에 도덕교육에서도 인간과 자연의 공생이라는 목표 달성을 위해 학생들의 생태학적 감수성과 자연보전의 성품을 함양하는 내용을 선정 조직하고 이를 자연체험학습, 탐구공동체활동 등의 방법을 통해 가르쳐야 할 것이다.[주제어] 자아실현, 일체화, 개인초월적 자아, 도덕교육, 생태주의적 의식
Abstract
An Ecological Self-Realization andMoral Education The purpose of this study is to explore moral education for ecological self-realization by reviewing debates about ecological self-realization. Arguments for ecological self-realization are criticized in that these are psychological approaches based on empathy, embrace universal ethics which excludes particulars, and insist holism which does not distinguish self from nature. But these arguments acknowledge the relative autonomy of entities and advocate ecological sensitivity. And those acknowledge identification based rather on universal ethics than personal intimacy. These are the advantages of arguments for ecological self-realization. Thus, we have to choose and organize learning contents that encourage students to cultivate ecological sensitivity and virtues for coexistences of human and nature in moral education. And we should try to teach students to realize ecological self through experience in nature learning, role play and the activity of inquiry community.
