정조의 홍재전서(弘齋全書)에 담긴 도덕 교육론

본 연구는 조선의 군주인 정조의 어제집인 『홍재전서』를 바탕으로 도덕교육의 내용과 현대적 함의를 조망하였다. 먼저, 정조의 교육관이 게으름을 척결하는 용감한 학습 자세의 강조, 심성과 습관 형성에 있어 환경의 중요성, 인재 양성을 위한 학교 교육의 강조에 있음을 발견하였다. 그리고 이러한 교육관을 바탕으로 『홍재전서』에 담긴 도덕교육에 관한 내용으로 시와 악을 통한 덕성 함양, 제례를 통한 예법 교육, 예법과 규약을 통한 인륜 교육, 어른에 대한 공경과 효 교육을 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 이러한 정조의 교육 철학과 도덕교육에 관한 입장이 오늘날 도덕교육에서 갖는 함의를 제시하였다. 이 연구를 계기로 『홍재전서』가 교육 분야에서 중요한 자료로 적극 활용되기를 기대한다.
Abstract
This study looked at the content and modern implications of moral education based on Hongjae-jeonseo of King Jeongjo, the monarch of Joseon. First, it was discovered that King Jeongjo's view of education eradicated laziness and emphasized a courageous learning attitude, an environment that influenced the formation of mentality and habits, and the cultivation of talent. And specifically, the content of moral education contained in Hongjae-jeonseo dealt with the cultivation of virtue through poetry and music, etiquette education through ancestral rites, education of human morality through etiquette and regulations, and finally, respect for elders and filial piety education. Lastly, the implications of King Jeongjo's educational philosophy and stance on moral education for today's moral education are presented. It is hoped that through this study, Hongjae-jeonseo will be actively used as an important resource in the field of education.
