본 논문은 사람들에게서 부도덕한 행동을 유발하는 심리적 기제를 탐구하여 도덕 교육을 기획할 때 이를 원용하고자 하는 데 그 기본적인 목적이 있다. 이를 위해, 우선 인간이 부도덕한 행동을 하게 되는 근원이 어디에 있는지를 도덕 규범의 진화 역사적 관점에서 검토한다. 그리고 사람들이 하는 부도덕한 행동의 기저에 놓여 있는 심리적 기제를 논의한다. 익명성이 보장되지 않을 때 사람들에게서 부도덕한 행동을 유발하는 심리적 기제로 ‘도덕적 투사’, ‘자기 과시’, ‘탈인격화’를 들고, 각각의 기제를 작동시키는 여러 요인을 제시하였다. 익명성이 보장될 때 사람들에게서 나타나는 부도덕한 행동의 심리적 기제로는 ‘인지 왜곡’을 들고 이를 작동시키는 요인들을 제시하였다. 논자는 이를 통해 도덕 교육에서 양심의 문제가 갖는 중요성을 확인할 수 있었다.
Abstract
The basic purpose of this thesis is to explore the psychological mechanisms that induce immoral behavior in people and to use it when planning moral education. To this end, we first examine the source of human immoral behavior from an evolutionary historical perspective of moral norms. It then discusses the underlying psychological mechanisms that lead people to engage in immoral behavior. ‘Moral projection’, ‘self-display’, and ‘depersonalization’ are exemplified as psychological mechanisms that induce immoral behavior when anonymity is not guaranteed in people, and various factors that operate each mechanism are presented. As a psychological mechanism for immoral behavior that may appear when anonymity is guaranteed, ‘cognitive distortion’ is suggested and the factors that operate it are suggested. Through this, the author could confirm the importance of the issue of conscience in moral education.
