본 연구의 목적은 섹스 로봇에 관한 찬성과 반대 측 입장의 논거를 비판적으로 분석함으로써 새로운 기술의 방향과 규제에 관한 사회적 논의를 준비하는 것이다. 섹스 로봇의 찬성 논거는 섹스 로봇이 인간에게 더 많은 쾌락과 행복을 제공해 주고, 권리로서의 성을 실현하며, 반려자로서의 역할을 수행하고 의학적 개입으로서 치료적 효과가 있다는 데 있다. 개인적 측면에서 섹스 로봇의 반대 논거는 로봇과의 섹스에는 사랑과 호혜성이 결여되어 있어 친교적 의미를 제공하지 못하고 성품의 타락을 이끈다는 데 있다. 사회적 측면에서는 동의 없는 성 행위를 조장하고 여성의 성적 대상화를 강화한다는 점에서 잠재적 해악의 우려가 있다. 종교적 측면에서 섹스 로봇은 신이 인간에게 부여한 생식의 명령에 벗어나며 신의 뜻에 부합하지 않는 창조물로 간주될 수 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to prepare social discussions on the direction and regulation of new technologies by critically analyzing the arguments for and against sex robots. The argument in favor of sex robots is that sex robots provide more pleasure and happiness to humans, realize sex as a right, play a role as a companion, and have a therapeutic effect as a medical intervention. The opposite argument of sex robots is that in personal terms, sex with robots lacks love and reciprocity, so it does not provide intimacy and leads to the degradation of character. In terms of society, there is a concern of potential harm in that sex robots promote sexual behavior without consent and strengthen women’s sexual objectification. From a religious point of view, sex with robots are against God’s reproductive commands and sex robots can be regarded as creatures that do not conform to God’s will.
