Abstract
This paper tried to empirically investigate the causes of reshoring by combining with the case studies and macroeconomic model involved ICT development variables of which the advanced OECD countries consist. Since the macroeconomic and statistical data can not be timely and correctly obtained at the macro level, the size of FDI inflow from each country is used as a substitute variable for reshoring. After analysis of dynamic panel model it was confirmed with following reasons that the fourth industrial revolution had a considerable influence: First, it is confirmed that market size, real effective exchange rate, trade openness, average wage level affect FDI inflow, ergo Reshoring, what is consistent with already existed studies. Second, wages occur to impact a significant negative determinants of FDI so that we can resume that wages (incl. with other cost factors) incentives have played a significant role in recent reshoring phenomenon. Third, because of the fact that the higher the level of ICT development, the more FDI inflows, it can be concluded that the fourth industrial development represented by ICT has a considerable influence on the Reshoring.
