해외진출기업의 복귀 결정요인에 관한 연구: 중국 및 동남아에 진출한 한국 기업을 중심으로

해외투자처의 임금, 기업환경 등 변화와 국내 실업률의 상승 등으로 인해 해외로 진출한 기업의 국내 복귀에 대한 관심이 중요한 이슈로 대두되고 있지만, 이러한 복귀 이슈에 대한 연구나 정책적 배려는 비교적 적은 실정이다. 그러나, 최근'지역경제의 활성화'와 '일자리 창출'이 선거, 자본주의 4.0 등 정책적 환경변화와맞물리면서, 복귀기업에 대한 관심이 다시 높아지고 있다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 논문에서는 기존 연구를 통해 중요한 국내복귀 결정 요인들 - 세율, 임금수준, 노동시장, 시장 성장성, 시장 규모, 시장의 질, 클러스터, 생활환경, 투자개방도, 기업자유도 - 을 도출하고, 중국 및 동남아에 진출한 112개 한국기업을 대상으로 이항로지스틱 모형을 통해 실증분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 세율, 시장의 질, 기업자유도의 세 가지 요인이 의미 있는 통계적 유의성을 보였다. 또한, 본 논문의 전반적 분석내용은 학자 및 정책 담당자들에게 해외직접투자의 이론, 전략 및 복귀정책 측면에서 중요한 시사점을 제시하고 있다.
Abstract
Although the Rebounding Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) issue has become increasing importance during the fast advancement of globalization, the Rebounding FDI is under-researched. However, recently because of the policies of “invigorate the regional economy” and “job creation,” the government will refocus on Rebounding FDI. So this study focused on ten kinds of determining factors - tax rate, wage level, labor market, market growth, market size, market quality, cluster, life environment, investment liberalization and enterprise degree of freedom -to describe the determinants of Rebounding FDI to Korea focused on the foreign subsidiaries in China and Southeast Asian countries. As a results, three determining factors - tax rate, market quality, and enterprise degree of freedom – show meaningful and significant results. In addition, this study will give some valuable implications (e.g., the strategy, policy and theory of FDI) for the government and scholars.
