본 연구는 한․중․일․ASEAN을 대상으로 동아시아 역내 국가간의 생산기술격차의 변화와 이로 인해 유발되는 산업 및 무역 의존관계를 레온티에프 승수 지표를 이용하여 실증분석을 전개하였다. 분석결과, 한국은 중국에, 중국은 한국에, 그리고 일본은 ASEAN, ASEAN은 한국에 상대적으로 크게 의존하는 산업 및 무역구조를 가지면서 상호 분업관계를 강화하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 곧 한․중․일․ASEAN간 산업 및 무역의 상호 의존관계가 그만큼 심화되고 있음을 의미하며, 동시에 치열한 경쟁관계를 유지하면서 상대국의 생산을 유발시키는 생산기술의 구조적 특징을 가지고 있음을 보여주고 있다. 이와 같은 한․중․일․ASEAN간 후방연관효과, 즉 생산기술격차에 따른 구조적 변화와 특징은 향후 동아시아 역내 국가간 FTA 등 무역자유화 및 경제통합을 추진하는 과정에서, 자국 경제의 이익을 극대화하는 산업 및 무역정책을 확립하는데 중요한 요인으로 작용한다는 점에서 우리에게 적지 않은 과제와 시사점을 제시하고 있다.
Abstract
This Paper focuses on analyzing the structural factors in the Production Technology Structure of Intermediate Products among ASEAN, Japan, China and Korea. Specifically, the study adopted an international input-output framework to quantitatively measure the international interdependence between the four economies. Empirical analysis was carried out by determining the dominant relationship in the production technology structures of the four countries using import coefficients and production inducement coefficients. The fact that the industrial linkage between Korea-China and China-Japan is more deeply interdependent and highly competitive compared with the Korea-Japan and Korea-ASEAN linkage. Finally, the industrial linkage in the electronics industry among Korea, China, Japan and ASEAN was found to be significantly tight, which implies that the four countries’ interdependence in the industry has been deepening, and that China is rapidly upgrading its industrial structure and catching up with Korea and Japan.
