한국 경제를 보는 국내외 시각 차이에 대한 일고찰

한국 경제를 바라보는 시각은 국내외에 뚜렷한 시각차이가 존재한다. IMF, OECD 등 국제경제기구는 일반적으로 한국 경제의 성과를 긍정적으로 평가한다. 반면, 국내전문가 및 우리 국민은 한국 경제를 부정적으로 바라보고 있다. G20 정상회의 등에서한국 경제에 대한 긍정적 평가에 한국의 경제 전문가 및 국민은 의문을 제기하는 것이 오늘날의 현실이다. 본고에서는 한국 경제가 해외에서는 긍정적인 평가를 받는 반면 국내에서는 상반된 평가를 받는지 그 원인과 배경을 살펴보았다.
Abstract
There is a clear difference in visions of the Korean economy between home and abroad. The international economic organizations including the IMF and OECD showed positive evaluation of the performance of the Korean economy. On the other hand, domestic researchers and Koreans are negatively looking at the Korean economy. Korea’s economic experts and the public are often questioning the positive evaluation of the Korean economy assessed by the G20 Summit Meeting. In this paper, we present why the gap exists between internal and external views. This difference of the views vis-a-vis the Korean economy was not so big until the mid 90s before the financial crisis, but it seems to have been widened recently. In the paper, we will show why the gap exists and starts to widen between internal and external views.
