욕망과 정념을 중심으로 본 칸트와 헤겔의 차이

본 논문은 욕망과 정념을 중심으로 감성에 관한 칸트와 헤겔의 철학적 입장 차이를 비교･검토하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 칸트와 헤겔의 철학적 연관성은 오랜 논쟁거리였다. 그러나 양자의 철학에서 감성, 특히 욕망(Begierde)과 정념(Leidenschaft) 의 의미와 역할에 관한 연구는 쉽게 찾아볼 수 없다. 감성의 문제는 형이상학적이고 인간학적인 쟁점과 무관할 수 없다. 특히 감성에 관한 논쟁은 이론과 실천을 매개하는 것으로서, 즉 구체적인 개인의 삶을 포섭하려는 철학적 노력을 함축적으로 보여준다고 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 욕망과 정념을 중심으로 칸트의 감성관에 내재된 전제들을 검토하고, 여기서 파생되는 이론적 문제를 제시한 후 헤겔이 이러한 문제를 어떻게 재구성하거나 극복하려고 했는지 추적해 보고자 한다. 칸트는 자신의 철학체계에 맞추어 감성과 이성을 분리시키고, 정념과 욕망의 문제를 이성의 올바른 사용문제로 바라본다. 이에 따라 칸트 철학에서 정념과 욕망을 통해 드러나는 인간의 삶의 문제는 부차적이고, 극복해야만 할 대상으로 간주된다. 반면 헤겔은 욕망과 정념을 이성의 자기발전의 주요한 계기로 삼음으로써 칸트가 전제하면서도 모호하게 남겨두었던 형이상학적 원리를 구체적인 삶의 과정 속에서 적극적으로 포섭하고자 한다. 양자의 차이와 교차점은 형이상학적 전제와 철학 체계의 근본적 차이에서 나오는 것이라고 볼 수 있으나, 독일고전철학 내에서 감성과 삶에 관한 치열한 고민의 흔적이자 여전히 감성에 관한 논의에서 간과할 수 없는 철학적 가치를 가진다.
Abstract
This article aims to compare between Kant's philosophical standpoint to feeling and Hegel's. The theoretical relationship between Kant and Hegel is constant controversy. But it is difficult to find the study of the meaning and role of desire and passion in both philosophy. The philosophical problem of feeling is related to the issue of metaphysic and anthropology. Especially the disputes about feeling show implicitly an philosophical effort to capture personal life as unity between theory and practice. In this article firstly the metaphysical anthropological presupposition of Kant's view of feeling and secondly Hegel's restructuring and overcoming concerning to the problem derived from Kant's view will be invested. Kant separates feeling from reason and changes the problem of passion and desire to the right using of reason. So the personal life originated from passion and desire is treated as secondary or to be conquered. On the contrary Hegel thinks passion and desire as moment of the self-development of reason and positively receives the principle of Metaphysic that Kant maintains uncertainly to make reference to feeling . Although the difference and intersection between Hegel and kant arise from fundamental discord between them, from this we can find the traces of the agony about feeling and life in German philosophy and the philosophical value not to be overlooked in the argument about feeling.
