인문학의 위기가 한국의 여러 대학교에서 철학과의 통폐합으로 현실화하고 있다. 나는 응용 인문학의 활성화가 인문학 위기 바이러스에 대처하는 길이라고 생각한다. 응용 인문학은 현실 문제를 해결하는 데 인문학 지식을 사용하는 학문이다. 응용 인문학 가운데 철학을 응용하는 길은 응용 윤리학, 정치 철학, 교육 철학, 논리학, 미학 등 다양하다. 그러나 응용 철학이 인문학의 위기를 해결하는 길이 되려면 위기에 대응하는 새 조건을 갖추어야 한다. 나는 응용 철학을 전문 직업과 연결하는 것이 한 가지 조건이라고 생각한다. 나는 응용 철학을 전문 직업과 연결하는 두 가지 구체적 방안을 제시할 것이다. 하나는 논리학 지식을 글쓰기 논술 지도사라는 직업과 연결하는 방안이고 또 하나는 철학 콘텐츠 지식을 문화 기획사라는 직업과 연결하는 방안이다. 두 방안은 모두 새로운 것이 아니다. 그러나 나는 글쓰기 논술 지도와 관련해 글쓰기 논술 강의 매뉴얼의 생산, 문화 기획과 관련해 철학 답사 여행 프로그램을 구체적인 대안으로 제시해 인문학 위기 바이러스에 맞서는 항체를 강화할 것이다.
Abstract
The crisis of humanities is becoming a reality and departments of philosophy in some Korean universities are at trouble of being eliminated or merged with others. I think the activation of applied humanities is a way of standing against the crisis of humanities. Applied humanities are disciplines that use knowledge of humanities to solve problems of the world. Applied philosophy is found in applied ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of education, logic, and aesthetics. However applied philosophy needs to adapt to new conditions of the crisis. I think it important that applied philosophy shows good job prospects. I propose two ways of connecting applied philosophy with jobs: knowledge of logic with teaching of writing and philosophical contents with cultural planning. These ways are not new. But I propose the specific programs, such as the making of manuals for teaching of writing and philosophical field study program.
