초록
The rules are a core element in every game, and the game progresses and concludes through learning and adhering to these rules. To assist the many developers who struggle with formulating game rules, it is necessary to categorize the various components that make up game rules. In the game industry, a systematic approach to writing game rules requires first distinguishing categories of rules and providing guidelines on which categories should receive relatively more focus. This study organizes five top-level and fifteen sub-level categories of game rules to design a hierarchical model for categorizing game rules. It then compares and analyzes the priority of categories that should be emphasized when writing game rules for single-player and multi-player games. The priorities of categories such as Growth, Character, Storytelling, Fictional World, and BGM were found to be higher in single-player games, whereas they were lower in multi-player games. Conversely, the priorities of categories such as Controls, Combat, Level Design, and UI were found to be higher in multi-player games, whereas they were lower in single-player games.
