이 글은 하이데거의 전･후기 저술들에 전개되는 신체 개념에 대해 검토하고, 거기서 신체 논의가 갖는 의의를 고찰하는 것을 목표로 한다. 하이데거의 『존재와 시간』 (1927)은 신체의 문제를 간과했다는 비난을 받는다. 신체의 문제가 기초존재론의 기획에서 빠졌다는 것이다. 그러나 하이데거는 신체에 관한 현상학적 연구의 가치를 전적으로 부인하지 않는다. 『존재와 시간』이 출간되고 33년이 지난 뒤에 행해진 『졸리콘 세미나』 (1959-1969)에서 하이데거는 초기 저술에서 유보했던 신체의 문제를 다시금 논의한다. 하이데거는 ‘신체적으로 사는 것(Leiben)’이란 개념을 통해 세계 안에서 신체가 수행하는 근본적인 역할을 공표하고 있다. 본 논문은 초기 저술에서 하이데거가 신체, 곧 현존재의 신체성의 측면을 현상학적 분석의 대상으로 삼지 않았다 할지라도, 이것이 곧 현존재분석론에서 신체 현상의 상실을 뜻하지 않는다는 점에 주목한다. 따라서 필자는 우선 『존재와 시간』의 현존재의 공간성 분석에 예비 되어 있는 신체의 문제를 검토한다. 그리고 현존재 분석론 및 1929/30년 저술들에서 현존재의 현사실성에 대한 논의를 통해 드러나는 신체의 현상을 검토한다. 존재적 현상, 특히 신체적 존재로 있음에 관한 물음은 현존재의 존재론에서 전개될 수 있고 접근될 수 있다. 그리고 후기 저술 『졸리콘 세미나』를 중심으로, ‘신체적으로 사는 것’과 같은 신체성의 지향성이 갖는 함의를 살펴볼 것이다. 신체에 대한 논급은 전･후기의 저술들에서 큰 차이가 있는 듯 보이지만, 내용상으로 볼 때 초기의 입장, 즉 「존재와 시간」의 철학적 입장이 여전히 견지되고 있음을 보게 될 것이다.
Abstract
The fact that the question of the living body is absent from the project of fundamental ontology in Being and Time(1927) has been noticed by many commentators. But Heidegger does not deny the significance of phenomenological research on the body. Argument on the body has continued on without ceasing, from earlier work to the Heidegger's later writing. In the Zollikon seminars(1959-69), which begin thirty-three years after the publication of Being and Time, he elaborates on the bodily aspect of Being-in-the-world as a ‘bodying forth(Leiben)’, a term he had introduced earlier in his Nietzsche lectures. Heidegger’s concept of bodying forth, belatedly addresses the previously neglected fundamental role that the living body plays in spatially orienting our practical comportments in the world. This bodying forth of the body is a way of Dasein’s being, having a peculiar relationship to the self. Therefore, the problem of body in his thoughts, is surely never be overlooked one. This paper is to trace the aspects of the concept of the living body and bodying forth as well as to examine the meaning of the body phenomena in Heidegger's writings. From this point of view, the examination on the meanings of the living body must be a meaningful step into his thoughts. Therefore, the concept of the living body is not the secondary matter, but plays an important theme in his philosophy.
