여유 교실 및 교실 환경 개선 재원 확보 가능성 증대와 새로운 교육과정 도입, 지리 교과의 특성 등 여러 가지 요인을 감안할 때 지리 교과 교실을 구축해야 되는 이유는 충분하다.지리 교과 교실을 구축하기 위해서는 공간 확보가 선결과제이며, 규모는 일반 교실 2칸 정도면 충분하다고 판단된다. 이 공간을 교수-학습 공간 1칸, 작업 공간 0.5칸, 교사 공간 0.5칸 정도로 분할하고, 설계도를 작성하여 각종 시설물을 용도에 맞게 배치하여 제시하였다. 본고에 제시한 안을 현장에 적용할 때는 학교 상황에 따라서 융통성 있게 수정하여 적용하기를 권한다.기자재는 우선순위를 정해서 가용 예산에 맞추어 연차적으로 구입하되 기능상의 중복을 피하여 비용을 절감하는 것이 중요하며, 급속도로 발전하고 있는 시장 상황을 수시로 반영하여 보다 성능이 우수한 기자재를 구입하려는 노력이 필요하다.본 주제는 초기 연구 단계에 있으며, 시대적 상황에 따라서 그 내용이 계속 변할 수밖에 없기 때문에 진일보한 새로운 대안을 지속적으로 제시하기 위해서 앞으로 더 많은 연구가 이루어져야 한다.
Abstract
The geography classroom should be constructed for several reasons : the growing possibility of increased access to surplus classrooms and money due to a reducing birthrate, the implementation of the 7th national curriculum, and the unique requirements of the subject of geography.In constructing the geography classroom, we must first secure the space. The double classroom is a sufficient size for the geography classroom. I propose that the two classrooms be partitioned into 3 areas: one classroom for a teaching & learning space, half a classroom for working space and another half for the teacher’s space.Within this definition, I propose a layout for the positioning of teaching instruments in the geography classroom. The layout is flexible, allowing for modifications according to the circumstances of the particular school to which it is applied.The school should purchase teaching instruments over a long-term according to priority and available budget, reduce the cost by avoiding functional overlapping among teaching instruments, and should try to buy updated equipment to keep up with rapid developments in technology.Because the study of this matter is in the beginning stages and because many instruments put in the geography classroom will be changed continuously, further studies need to be carried out to provide for the coming up with newly up-graded versions of teaching instruments on a continual basis.
