자살 유가족 상담자의 대리 외상 경험: 해석현상학적 분석

초록

본 연구는 자살자 유가족들을 상담한 상담사들의 대리 외상 경험과 극복에 대한 해석현상학적 분석이다. 연구자는 Smith et al.,(2009)가 제안한 해석현상학적 분석방법으로 접근하여 대리 외상의 내용과 극복방법, 결과를 현상학적으로 분석 기술했다. 연구에는 5명의 상담사가 참여했고 연구자는 개별 심층 면담을 수행하여 자료를 수집했다. 분석 결과 자살 유가족 상담사들의 대리 외상 경험의 공통성과 본질이라고 할 수 있는 상위주제는 ‘참혹한 고통의 공유’, ‘내재 된 불안의 발현’, ‘자기에로의 책임 전가’, ‘전문가의 효능감 회의’, ‘심리적 롤러코스터’, ‘공감 피로’, ‘실존 차원에서 약함의 미학’, ‘치유의 동맹자로서의 회복 연대’. ‘상처의 공감력 승화’로 나타났다. 연구자는 연구결과에 근거하여 치유의 동맹자로서 상담자와 가족 상담사들의 상처 입을 수 있는 능력에 대해 논의를 했다.

Abstract

This study is an interpretative phenomenological analysis of surrogate experiences of traumatization of the counselors who counseled with people bereaved by family's suicide. The researcher approached interpretative phenomenological analysis by Smith et al(2009) and described the content of vicarious traumatization, overcoming method and the results. Five counselors participated in the study, and the data were collected by conducting individual in-depth interviews. As the results, the major topics that can be said to be the common and essence of vicarious traumatization experiences were such as these; ‘sharing of terrible pain’, ‘emergence of hidden anxiety’, ‘transferring of responsibility to self’ and ‘decline of the self-efficacy as professional’. ‘Psychological roller coaster’, ‘empathy fatigue’, ‘existential-level weakness aesthetics’, ‘recovering solidarity as a therapeutic ally’. ‘sublimation of sympathy of wound’. Finally, based on the results, the counselors as the therapeutic ally and the abilities of the family counselors to be hurt were discussed.
