대처전략의 하위유형과 우울 수준의 관계에 관한 탐색적 연구

연구 목적: 이 연구는 스트레스-대처 모델을 기반으로 개인의 대처전략의 잠재적 하위유형을 확인하고. 대처전략의 잠재적 하위유형과 우울 수준과의 관계를 확인하는 것이다. 연구 방법: 본 연구에서는 경기도에 거주하는 1,019명의 성인에 대한 이차자료를 활용하여, 잠재계층분석을 수행하였다. 연구 내용: 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, (1) 대처기술 없음, (2) 낮은 대처, (3) 문제중심대처, (4) 문제중심과 정서･회피형 대처, (5) 모든 대처기술 활용의 다섯 가지 하위유형이 확인되었다. 둘째, 스트레스 수준이 높아질수록 낮은 수준의 대처기술 혹은 모든 대처기술을 활용하는 집단에 속하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대처기술을 없거나 문제중심의 대처기술을 활용하는 집단이 우울 수준이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 결론 및 제언: 개인의 스트레스 대처전략은 동시에 복합적으로 활용될 수 있다. 후속연구에서는 스트레스 대처기술과 우울 수준의 종단적 관계를 확인하기 위해 종단자료를 활용할 필요성이 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of the study is to examine latent subtypes of coping strategies and their relationships with levels of depression based on the stress-coping model. The study included 1,109 adults living in Gyeonggi Province and latent class analysis was performed. The findings are as follows: First, five subtypes of coping strategies were found: (a) no coping, (b) low coping, (c) problem-focused coping, (d) problem-focused coping with emotional-avoidance coping, (e) all coping. Second, higher levels of perceived stress were associated with increased odds of belong to low coping and all coping. Lastly, no coping and problem-focused coping were associated with low levels of depression. Findings highlight individuals may utilize different coping strategies simultaneously. Future study is needed to analyze longitudinal data to understand the relationship between coping strategies and levels of depression over time.
