연구 목적: 이 논문은 한국어-인도네시아 번역에 나타난 금기어를 확인하고 금기어를 번역하기 위해 번역자들이 사용하는 번역 전략을 분석하는데 있다. 연구 방법: Khoshsaligheh et al.(2014)이 제시한 전략을 기준으로 출발어에 있는 금기어를 도착어로 번역하기 위해 번역자가 사용하는 번역 전략을 분석하였다. 연구 내용: 분석 결과 번역자가 가장 많이 사용하는 번역 전략은 출발어의 금기어를 도착어에서 비금기어로 번역하는 전략이다. 결론 및 제언: 번역가는 금기어 번역을 회피하기보다는 한국어 원본에 충실하면서 동시에 인도네시아어로 효과적으로 번역하기 위해 동등한 의미를 가지는 비금기어로 번역을 하거나 도착어의 금기어로 번역을 선호한다는 것을 의미한다.
Abstract
This paper aims to identify taboo words in Korean-Indonesian translation and analyze the translation strategies used by translators to translate taboo words. Using the translation strategy of Khoshsalighe et al.(2014), analyzed the strategies used by translators to translate taboo words in the source language into the target language. As a result of the analysis, the translation strategy most frequently used by translators is the translation strategy of Taboo to Non-taboo. This means that most translators prefer to translate into taboo words having a similar meaning. Other than that, translators also prefer translating into taboo words to effectively translate into Indonesian while being faithful to the original Korean language rather than avoiding taboo word translation.
