Abstract

This study aims to analyze the current state of courses registered at the academic credit bank system in the field of dance studies and make plans to promote the development of the subject. The investigator selected 12 educational institutions where students could obtain a bachelor’s degree in a four-year dance studies course under ACBS system and examined and analyzed the current state of courses registered at the system by the school based on the standard curriculums of the system supervised by the National Institute for Lifelong Education. The present study explored systematic curriculums for practical dance, contributing to the advanced cultivation of practical dance professionals and future studies on the practical dance subject. First, it is needed to organize courses fit for practical dance majors rather than the old educational method under the four-year absolute dance specialization system. Second, there is a need for systematic education on choreography, one of the essential elements of dance, to cultivate practical dance professionals. Third, there should be theoretical education from the perspective of street art.
