초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of history of science on students learning of nature of science in secondary biology classes of US. Quasi-experimental research design was utilized to explore high school biology students' views of nature of science before and after the intervention. The experimental group was taught genetics integrating the history of science, utilizing various historical materials from the history of genetics, while the control group was taught without historical materials. The results indicated that the experimental group developed better understanding in nature of science. The findings of this study suggests that integrating history of science into science classes provides students with a rich context for developing appropriate views of nature of science.
