연구 목적: 공립박물관 소장문화재 및 보존환경 관리 현황을 조사하고, 소장문화재 및 보존환경 관리의 제도적인 어려움을 현실적으로 극복할 수 있는 개선방안을 제시하고자 한다. 연구 방법: 공립박물관 4곳을 선정하여 소장유물 및 보존환경 관리 현황 등을 조사하였다. 연구 내용: 박물관 4곳에는 문화재를 보존처리할 수 있는 보존과학실 시설과 전문 인력을 보유하지 않은 상황이었다. 4곳 모두 전시관 내 항온항습 시설은 설치되지 않은 상태이며, 계절에 따른 온도 및 습도의 큰 차이가 발생하였다. 박물관 4곳 중 2곳에서는 도내 연구기관과의 업무협약을 통해 응급보존처리 및 지진대비 작업이 진행된 사례도 확인하였다. 결론 및 제언: 박물관 자체적으로 보존관리 인력 충원 및 시설 마련이 가장 이상적인 방법이다. 하지만, 현실적으로 해결하기 어려운 부분은 전문 인력과 장비를 갖춘 연구기관 및 보존업체 등과 업무협력을 통한 소장문화재의 효율적인 보존관리가 시급하다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the management status of cultural heritage and preservation environment held by public museums and to present measures and improvement measures to realistically overcome current institutional difficulties. All four museums did not have conservation science room facilities and professional conservator to preserve cultural heritage on their own. All four do not have a temperature and humidity control system in the exhibition halls, and there were large differences in temperature and humidity depending on the season. Two out of four public museums are managed through business agreements with research institutes in the province, and emergency preservation treatment and earthquake preparation cases have also been confirmed. The most ideal way is to recruit personnel for the preservation and management of the museum itself and to have facilities for the cultural heritage. However, there are practical difficulties in securing professional conservator and equipment. Therefore, it is necessary to efficiently preserve and manage cultural heritage and cooperate with research institutes and conservation companies equipped with professional conservator and equipment.
