연구 목적: 이 연구는 글로벌 경제 안에 포함되기 전과 후의 도시 형성 과정의 차이를 비교해 보면서 식민체계 이후 도시 변화는 어떻게 문화적, 구조적으로 변했으며 현재의 도시 모습으로 어떻게 이어지는지 비교 관점에서 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 방법: 연구방법은 말라카와 세부에 대한 역사적 기록에 대한 문헌연구와 현재의 정책에 관한 언론 및 인터넷 자료 텍스에 대한 비교분석을 한다. 연구 내용: 이 논문의 연구내용은 권역을 대표하던 항구도시가 식민 시기 전후로 착취적 목적을 위해 성장한 도시에 자리를 내주며, 도시는 불평등한 사회구조가 심화되는 과정을 분석하였다. 결론 및 제안: 식민도시에 대한 비교연구를 통해 식민본국에 의존적인 경제구조가 형성되면서 도시내의 거주민 사이에도 불평등한 관계가 고착되었다. 이러한 과정에 대한 분석은 향후 복잡한 동남아 도시의 종족문제를 설명하는 중요한 단초가 될 것으로 보인다.
Abstract
This study compares the differences in the process of urban formation before and after being included in the global economy, and examines how culturally and structurally the city has changed since the colonial system and how it leads to the current city shape from a comparative point of view. To figure out this process, a comparative analysis of literature research on historical records of Malacca and Cebu. The research analyzes the process by which a port city gave way to a newly grown city for exploitative purposes before and after the colonial period, and the city deepened the unequal social structure. Through comparative studies of colonial cities, an economic structure dependent on the colonial home country was formed, and unequal relations were fixed among the residents within the city. Analysis of this process is expected to be an important clue to explain the complex ethnic problem of Southeast Asian cities in the future.
