연구 목적: 이 연구는 초급 한국어 학습자를 대상으로 어휘 주석 유형을 무주석, 텍스트 주석, 그림 주석으로 달리하여 우연적 어휘 학습 효과를 알아보는 데에 목적이 있다. 연구 방법: 400시간 이상 한국어 학습을 한 초급 한국어 학습자 60명을 대상으로 실험을 실시하였고 이를 SPSS/WIN 통계프로그램 22.0을 활용하여 통계적 유의성과 효과성을 검증하였다. 연구 내용: 성취도 상위 집단과 성취도 하위 집단 모두에서 어휘 주석의 우연적 어휘 학습 효과와 기억 효과의 유의성이 검증되었으며, 특히 초급 학습자의 경우, 텍스트 주석보다는 그림 주석이 더 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 결론 및 제언: 초급 한국어 학습자의 경우, 어휘 주석을 적극적으로 사용하여 읽기 텍스트를 개작할 필요가 있으며, 특히 그림 주석의 적극적 사용도 고려해 볼 필요가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to uncover the effect of vocabulary annotation on incidental vocabulary learning for beginner Korean language learners when the vocabulary annotation type differs from non-annotation, text annotation, and picture annotation. An experiment was conducted on 60 beginner-level Korean language learners who had studied Korean for more than 400 hours, and the experimental results were analyzed using the statistical software SPSS Statistics V22.0. The positive effect of vocabulary annotation on incidental vocabulary learning has been verified in both the higher and lower academic achievement groups, and specifically picture annotation has been shown to be more effective than text annotation. In the case of beginner learners of Korean, vocabulary annotation is needed to modify reading text, and in particular, it is necessary to actively use picture annotations.
