연구 목적: 본 연구는 영상번역강의에서 영상자막텍스트에 내재된 원천문화적요소의 번역사례들을 분석하고, 기능번역이론관점에서 번역가의 개입, 검출성 및 가시성의 중요성을 살펴본다. 연구 방법: 전공학생들이 영화 Green Book(2019)의 문화요소자막텍스트 사례분석을 위해 기능번역접근법관점에서 살펴보고 시간과 공간성문제 해결을 위한 접근법을 모색한다. 연구 내용: 사례분석결과는 축소, 삭제 등의 기능적 접근법 및 검출성을 검증한다. 결론 및 제언: 영상자막번역의 축약, 삭제, 가시성등 다양한 접근법이 수행되었지만 스코포스적 문화요소 전달은 부족했다. 이는 영상번역의 목적에 부합하기 위해 영상자막개입 필요성 및 가시성 의의가 교육현장에서 강조될 필요가 있다.
Abstract
This research explored the cases of cultural semantic molecules in the subtitling translation in an audiovisual translation class and examined the significance of the translator’s role for detectability and visibility from the perspective of functional translation. For the analysis of cultureloaded text translations, the subtitles from “The Green Book” Movies were employed for optimal audiovisual subtitling translation analysis, resolving temporal and spatial limitations. The findings presented on the frequent uses of reduction, deletion and visibility; however, detectability and functional delivery of cultural factors in Skopos were not largely shown. Accordingly, the translator’ role as a secondary author and implementor of detectability techniques should be put forth in college translation courses.
