詩話 번역의 현황과 과제

Abstract

The poetic criticism(詩話) is a subconcept of miscellaneous records(筆記), but these two are indistinguishable. In this thesis, a relatively large number of poems are considered to be poetry in miscellaneous records as a poetic criticism. This thesis examines the current status and tasks of translation focusing on poetic criticism in the Collection of Korean poetic criticisms(韓國詩話叢編). Half of the poetic criticism in the Collection of Korean poetic criticisms have been translated, and more than half of them have been translated again. The translation of the late Joseon period poetic criticism is an urgent task. The poetic criticism in this period are rare in collection. The poetic criticism is a mixture of verse and prose. Translation of the poetic criticism requires an understanding of the format of a poetry and custom of language. The poetic criticism consists of excerpts, and mostly written in manuscript. so comparison with the original text and different version is essential. Translation is still not recognized as an academic achievement. Translation of the poetic criticism has been made through the voluntary efforts of the researchers, but the rapid changes in the research environment, it has become difficult to translate as before.
