이 글은 이제까지 잘 알려지지 않은 김태준에 관한 자료 몇 가지를 소개하기 위한 것이다. 이 자료를 통해 그에 대한 이해를 조금 더 깊이 할 수 있다고 본다. 첫째는 경성제국대학 예과의 학생 잡지 『청량(淸凉)』에 실린 장자(莊子)에 관한 글이다. 김태준은 이 글을 한문으로 썼다. 둘째는 경성제국대학 조선문학 강좌 담당 교수 다카하시 토오루[高橋亨]가 정년퇴임한 뒤에 김태준이 강사로 선임되는 과정을 살펴본 것이다. 그리고 김태준의 『조선한문학사』와 『조선소설사』를 읽은 다카하시의 반응도 함께 살펴보았다. 셋째는 1945년 12월 김태준이 중국 연안에서 돌아온 후 1949년 11월까지 남한에서 나온 신문 기사 몇 가지이다. 뛰어난 학자이며 영웅적인 항일운동가에서 북한의 간첩으로 몰려 남한에서 사형당하기까지 김태준의 마지막 4년을 재구성해보았다.
Abstract
This article examines new materials on Kim Taejun(金台俊) that can give us deeper insights into him. First, it looks at the Zhuangzi, which was published in the preparatory course student magazine Seiryō of the Keijō Imperial University and was written by Kim Taejun in Chinese. Second, it focuses on the process of Kim Taejun’s appointment as an instructor after professor Toru Takahashi retired from Keijō Imperial University, and Takahashi’s reaction to Kim's History of Korean Chinese Literature and History of Korean Novels. Third, it introduces some of the newspaper articles published in South Korea from December 1945 to November 1949, after Kim Taejun returned from Yanan, China. It is an attempt to recompose Kim Taejun’s last four years. It shows how a remarkable scholar and heroic anti-Japanese activist was accused of being a North Korean spy in South Korea.
