Abstract

The way to approach Kim Jong-Sam’s poetry to the side of ‘sound’ is essential to identify Kim Jong-Sam’s poetry world. To accomplish this, the task of organizing the basic data should be preceded. Thus, this article aims to categorize the aspect of ‘sound’ in Kim Jong-sam’s poetry. There are four aspects of ‘sound’ in Kim Jong-Sam’s poetry. First, he uses ‘sound’ directly in poetry. This is a background to determine the mood of the poem. Second, he uses various terms related to music. So I realized that his intellectual spectrum on music was beyond his preference. Third, he uses the onomatopoeia, the predicate, and the noun. This demonstrates that use of sound images is not a primary dimension. Fourth, he uses speech in poetry. In this case, we can see that there is a relationship between how he creates poetry and how he uses speech.
