본 연구의 목적은 소리풍경 관련 활동에 있어 중요한 도시 사례를 통해 도시의 소리풍경을 어떻게 보존․복원․창조해야 하는가를 고찰하고 그로부터 시사점을 얻는 데 있다. 종 및 종소리 보존 정책과 그 실천이 두드러진 툴루즈의 사례는 기초적인 지역 유산 조사의 중요성, 그 보존에 있어 관점의 확대와 지방자치단체의 전폭적인 지원의 필요성을 알려준다. 프로젝트를 통해 특정 구역의 18세기 후반 소리풍경이 복원된 파리의 사례는 관련 텍스트와 시각적 자료를 통한 추론, 현재에서 소리풍경 찾기, 첨단 기술의 활용 등 과학적․합리적 방법으로 소리풍경 복원이 이루어져야 함을 시사한다. 로마 시대 유적, 수도원, 상류층의 옛 저택과 호텔 한가운데서 니스 재즈 페스티벌과 5월 축제를 열어 새로운 소리풍경을 창조한 니스의 시미에 지역 사례는 그 조성에 있어 민주화, 지역의 역사․풍습과의 관계를 고려해야 함을 깨닫게 해준다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine how to preserve, restore, and create urban soundscapes through important urban cases in soundscape-related activities, and to obtain implications from them. The case of Toulouse, where the bells and chimes conservation policy and practice stand out, shows the importance of basic local heritage research, the need to expand the perspective and full support of local governments in its preservation. The case of Paris, where the soundscape of the late 18th century was restored through a project, suggests that soundscape restoration should be done in a scientific and rational way, such as reasoning through related texts and visual data, finding soundscapes in the present, and using advanced technology. The case of Cimiez in Nice, which created a new soundscape by opening the Nice Jazz Festival and the Fête des mai in the middle of Roman ruins, monastery, old mansions and hotels of the upper class, makes us realize that democratization and the relationship with the history and customs of the region must be considered in its creation.
