최근 한국군은 국방환경의 도전요인들을 효과적으로 극복하기 위해 국방혁신 4.0을 추진하고 있으며, 육군도 유･무인 복합전투체계를 중심으로 Army TIGER 4.0 체계 전환 추진을 가속화하고 있다. 향후 한미동맹의 강화와 함께 한국군의 군사적 역할이 확대될 것으로 예상되는 바, 韓 육군은 다영역작전 교리와 현대화전략을 추진하고 있는 美 육군의 군사혁신 사례를 벤치마킹하여 상호운용성을 강화해 나갈 필요성이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 최근 복합위기의 안보상황 속에서 국방환경의 도전과제를 극복하기 위해 추진하고 있는 국방혁신 4.0을 효과적으로 구현하기 위한 육군의 대응전략을 도출하였다. 이를 위해 최근 동북아 안보환경의 변화와 한반도 작전환경을 평가하였고, 한미동맹의 강화 추세와 연계하여 美 육군 군사혁신 사례의 시사점을 분석하였다. 또한 대내･외적 환경분석을 통해 기회･위협요인과 장･단점을 파악하고 이를 바탕으로 韓 육군의 대응전략을 도출하였다.
Abstract
Recently, the ROK military is promoting Defense Innovation 4.0 to effectively overcome the challenges of the defense environment, and the Army is accelerating the transition to the Army TIGER system centering on the Manned UnManned Teaming(MUM-T) systems. As the ROK-U.S. alliance is expected to strengthen in the future, the military role of the ROK Army is expected to be strengthened as well. Therefore, it is necessary for the ROK Army to develop interoperability by benchmarking the military innovation cases of the U.S. Army, which is pursuing Multi-Domain Operations and Modernization Strategies. Accordingly, in this study, the ROK Army's response strategy was derived to effectively implement Defense Innovation 4.0, which is being promoted to overcome the challenges of the defense environment in the recent security situation of complex crises. To this end, recent changes in the security environment in Northeast Asia and the operational environment on the Korean Peninsula were evaluated, and in connection with the trend of strengthening the ROK-U.S. alliance, cases of military innovation by the U.S. Army were analyzed and implications were considered. In addition, by analyzing the internal and external environment, opportunities and threats and strengths and weaknesses were identified, and based on this, the ROK Army's response strategy was derived.
