This study attempted to provide implications for the contents and methods of environmental education teaching and learning by verifying the effect of the environmental education program based on discussion and debate using movies on the environmental susceptibility and environmental conservation consciousness of elementary school students. To this end, the purpose of applying an environmental education program centered on discussion and debate using movies for 23 third graders of B elementary school in Busan, and to find out the impact on each sub-area of environmental susceptibility and environmental conservation of elementary school students. The results obtained through this study were as follows. First, the environmental education program focusing on discussion and debate using movies was effective in cultivating the environmental susceptibility of elementary school students. Second, the environmental education program based on discussion and debate using movies showed a significant effect on the awareness of environmental conservation of elementary school students. Third, the environmental education program focused on discussion and debate using movies had a positive effect on the change in the perception of the environment of elementary school students. As described above, implementing an environmental education program centered on discussion and debate using movies as a way to promote environmental susceptibility and environmental conservation awareness of elementary school students increases students' attitudes toward environmental issues and strengthens their willingness to value and protect the environment.
