자살테러 발생 영향요인에 관한 연구- 일반긴장요인과 상대적 박탈감 요인을 중심으로 -

초록

이 연구의 목적은 자살테러 발생에 영향을 미치는 요인을 확인하는 것이다. 구체적으로 자살테러리스트 또는 자살테러 단체의 출신 국가와 소속 국가를 확인하여 출신국가와 미 출신국가의 사회적 지표를 비교한 뒤 일반긴장요인과 상대적 박탈감 요인을 중심으로 자살테러 발생에 영향을 미치는 요인을 확인하였다. 세계평화지수(GPI) 중 일반긴장요인과 상대적 박탈감 요인에 해당되는 변수를 독립변수로 설정하여 자살테러 발생에 미치는 영향력을 확인하기 위해 음이항 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 자살테러 증가에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 해당 국가의 정치적 테러수준, 국내 분쟁으로 인한 사망자 지수, 군비 지출액 요인이 자살테러의 발생에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 자살테러의 발생을 예방하기 위한 정책적 제언을 제시하였다. 우선 정치적 테러와 관련하여 이념과 종교, 인종과 민족 등을 이유로 고문과 같은 정치적 테러를 금지할 수 있는 제도적 방안이 필요하다고 할 수 있다. 또한 국내에서 발생하는 분쟁을 폭력적인 방법으로 해결하기 보다는 평화적인 방법으로 해결할 수 있는 제도적 방안이 필요하며, 군비 지출액을 줄이도록 노력하여 안전한 환경을 조성하기 위한 노력이 필요하다고 할 수 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is identifying factors for influencing suicide terrorism. Specifically, comparing the social index of nations where the suicide terrorists or organizations are born and not born. Based on this comparison, I confirm the factors that influence on the occurrence of suicide terrorism. A negative binomial regression analysis was conducted to determine the impact on suicide attacks by setting variables corresponding to general tension and relative deprivation factors in the Global Peace Index (GPI). According to the analysis, the level of political terrorism in the country, the index of deaths from domestic conflicts and the amount of military spending affected the occurrence of suicide attacks. Based on these findings, a policy proposal was made to prevent the occurrence of suicide attacks. First of all, it is necessary to have institutional measures to ban political terrorism, such as torture, on the grounds of ideology, religion, race and ethnicity, in relation to political terrorism. In addition, institutional measures are needed to resolve domestic disputes in a peaceful manner rather than in violent ways, and efforts are needed to create a safe environment by trying to reduce military spending.
