핵심 기간산업의 역할을 수행하는 항만물류 산업은 국가 경제성장의 중요한 기반이 되고 있다. 최근에는 대규모 컨테이너 환적화물 처리를 통해 항만물류 산업이 새로운 부가가치 및 고용을 창출하는 경제성장의 엔진 역할도 담당하고 있다. 선행연구에 의하면 컨테이너항 환적 물동량은 항만 물류비와 관련성이 있다. 본 연구는 국가별 자료를 바탕으로 항만 물류비와 환적 물동량과의 상관관계 그리고 항만 물류비에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 변수들에 대해 실증적 분석을 실시하고 있다. 특히 거래비용이론(TCA)을 통해 항만 물류비의 결정요인과 효과에 대해 이론적인 해석을 실시하고 있다. 거래비용이론에 의하면 컨테이너항 관련 자산 특유성(asset specificity), 불확실성(uncertainty)이 해당 컨테이너항 항만 물류비 및 환적 물동량에 영향을 미치는 핵심 변수가 될 수 있다. 본 연구는 이에 대한 실증적 분석을 실시하고 있다.
Abstract
Port logistics industry has been the motor force of economic growth in individual countries. Among various areas of port logistics industry, transshipment has played an important role. Transshipment is closely related to many activities of the port logistics industry. Port logistics cost is one of them. This study is designed to investigate the relationship between port logistics cost and transshipment in terms of empirical and theoretical perspectives. Also, this study provides various determinants of port logistics cost based on the Transaction Cost Analysis(TCA). The TCA is a theoretical foundation of this study. According to the TCA, asset specificity and uncertainty can be important variables to decrease port logistics cost and increase transshipment. In specific, port infrastructure and port management can be included in asset specificity of container ports. Also, regulatory institution and labor market uncertainty may represent uncertainty of the ports.
