정보통신기술은 다양한 분야에서 그 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 해운물류 분야도 예외가 아니다. 정보통신기술은 선적, 하역, 운송과 관련 직‧간접적으로 영향을 미치고 있다. 본 연구는 국가 간 정보통신기술 역량의 차이가 해당국 환적 물동량에 미치는 영향에 대해 이론적인 분석과 함께 실증적인 분석을 실시하고 있다. 이와 함께 개별국가의 환적 물동량에 영향을 미치는 다양한 변수에 대해서도 설명하고 있다. 분석 결과 해운물류 네트워크, 항만 운영 효율성 등이 개별국가의 환적 물동량 증대에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있으며 정보통신기술 역량이 높은 국가일수록 이러한 변수들에 의한 환적 물동량 증대가 가속화될 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 자원기반이론(RBV)은 이러한 실증 분석 결과에 대한 이론적 배경을 제시하고 있다.
Abstract
ICT(Information and Communication Technology) has played an important role in various areas. Maritime industry is not an exemption. ICT is closely related to many activities of maritime industry such as shipment and transportation. This study is designed to empirically investigate the influence of ICT capability on transshipment traffic volumes in individual countries. Also, this study provides various determinants of transshipment traffic volumes in the maritime industry. OLS regression is used to empirically investigate causal relationships among a dependent variable(transshipment traffic volumes), independent variables(quality of port, shipping network, trade volume, container volume, and port customs process), and a moderator(ICT capability). According to statistical results, shipping network, port customs process, and container volume are key determinants of transshipment traffic volumes in individual countries. Also, positive relationships between the dependent and independent variables can be positively moderated by ICT capability. Resource-Based View(RBV) is a theoretical foundation of this study.
