식품테러 의심상황 발생 시 TF 구성에 관한 연구

Abstract

Food terrorism is a grave criminal act that jeopardizes public health and safety by deliberately contaminating food. In response to the 9/11 attacks, the United States enacted the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) to bolster preventive measures. Similarly, Japan strengthened its regulations and preventive actions following the 2007 frozen dumpling incident to combat food contamination. In South Korea, the establishment of a dedicated food terrorism task force (TF) is urgently required to address these threats. This TF should unite experts from various fields, including food safety, law enforcement, and public health, to create a coordinated response system. Comprehensive measures must be developed, encompassing education and prevention, information sharing, crisis response planning, and legal and institutional support. Through these initiatives, public health can be safeguarded, and a systematic approach to responding to and preventing food terrorism can be achieved. Enhanced cooperation and information sharing across sectors will foster public trust and contribute to the development of a safer society.
