본 연구는 대학 교양 글쓰기 수업에서 ChatGPT와 같은 인공지능(AI) 도구의 활용 가능성을 탐구하였다. ChatGPT는 자동 채점과 즉각적인 피드백 제공을 통해 교수자의 채점 부담을 줄이고, 평가의 일관성 및 신속성을 높일 수 있는 도구로 주목받고 있다. 본 연구는 ChatGPT의 전이 학습과 제로샷 러닝 기능을 바탕으로 다양한 글쓰기 과제를 평가할 수 있는 유연성과 활용성을 분석하였다. 또한 ChatGPT의 주요 장점과 한계를 고찰하며, 실제 수업에서의 적용 가능성을 검토하였다. 연구 결과, ChatGPT는 대학 글쓰기 평가에서 보조적 도구로서의 잠재력을 지니고 있으나, 일부 한계점에 대한 교수자의 보완적 접근이 필요함을 제안하였다.
Abstract
This study explores the potential of using AI tools such as ChatGPT in university liberal arts writing courses. ChatGPT, noted for its ability to provide automated grading and instant feedback, offers a promising solution to reduce the grading burden on instructors while enhancing the consistency and speed of evaluations. This study analyzes ChatGPT's flexibility and applicability, leveraging its transfer learning and zero-shot learning capabilities to assess various types of writing tasks. Furthermore, the strengths and limitations of ChatGPT are examined, alongside a review of its practical applicability in actual classroom settings. The findings suggest that while ChatGPT holds significant promise as an auxiliary tool for university writing assessment, complementary approaches from instructors are necessary to address certain limitations.
