Abstract
Hydrogenated lecithin, a non-ionic surfactant widely used in nanoemulsion production through high-pressure homogenization, has demonstrated high skin affinity and extensive applications in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and transdermal absorption technologies. Traditionally, NaCl salt has been limited in oil-in-water emulsion systems due to its negative impact on particle stability. This study investigated the interaction between nanoemulsions containing hydrogenated lecithin and higher alcohols, produced via high-pressure homogenization, and NaCl salt ions. Changes in the emulsion interface were observed, with nanoemulsion particles initially 150 nm in diameter increasing to approximately 1000 nm upon reaction with ions. These findings suggest potential for developing novel emulsion cosmetic technologies that utilize the interaction between nanoemulsion particles stabilized by hydrogenated lecithin and ionic compounds.
