소비자기본법 시행 이후 소비자정책의 방향에 대한 소고

Abstract

This paper investigates conditions for implementation of consumer policy, current systems of consumer policy and its implementation, and roles of regional governments for consumer policy. In addition, this paper seeks how to improve consumer policy after dealing with the problems of current consumer policy after implementing Consumer General Law. In particular, this paper finds that problems of the current consumer policy include lack of preconditions for implementing consumer policies, lack of the whole and integrated system for implementation of the policies, absence of competition in the administrative system of consumer policies, and incomplete implementation of consumer policies. This paper also suggests several solutions for improvement such as rebuilding the direction of consumer policy, establishment of coordination system among consumer policy institutions, clarification of their roles, enhancing consistency and persistency of laws for consumers, promoting consumer policies of regional governments, and improvement of consumer policy, and retaining leading roles in consumer policy among other nations.
