Abstract

Recently, machine translation has been attracting much attention. The significance of the development of machine translation lies in the fact that, through specialized machines, man can radically expand upon the possibility of magnetizing knowledge recorded in foreign languages. In order to achieve the desired results, preliminary tasks are required to be performed. In that regard I would suggest two tasks. The first is by developing various tools required for Chinese Classical written language works(漢文) text translation, we need to build the tools necessary for the first translation process, the other is, we also need to build good quality parallel corpus material. By means of such research, new research fields such as 'HanMun(漢文) Linguistics' can be created. This can promote dramatic changes in the field of literary research and translation that has previously relied on human memory and intuition. This in turn will, contributes greatly to the distribution and reproduction of knowledge. On the other hand, the construction of a Chinese Classical written language works Chinese Character (漢文) text corpus will not only be effective in deepening the academic field in the related field, but it can also be applied to to practical areas such as the development of machine translator, dictionary compilation, cultural contents development, and contents and system development for humanities and classical education. And it should be remembered that this is a task that needs to be performed by a professional group that specializes in Chinese Classical written language works (漢文).
