초록
Nuclear modernization continues in South Asia with the installation of novel, long-range and more reliable delivery system, and it is one of the major reasons behind security dilemma. Experts claim that mounting nuclear warheads involves dilapidated security condition in South Asia including the relations between Pakistan and India, India and China, Russia and the United States (U.S.), and the U.S. and China. The research commences with a question as to why the governments of India and Pakistan keep on increasing nuclear warheads despite security challenges. Moreover, the study also examines the impact of mounting nukes on regional security of South Asia. In so doing, this study reviews continuous escalating nuclear instability of South Asia, especially in sub-continent, and tries to build a causal relation between nuclear proliferation and security dilemma. In due course, the causes of nuclear proliferation will be discussed with reference to the theory of security dilemma. Finally, the future prospect of nuclear security in South Asia will be discussed.
