Abstract
Myanmar's land is a mountainous region that has clearly expanded in southwest China, with a river of vast size, such as Irrawady, Thanlween, and Sittaung. In particular, Myanmar is a large group of people, including Rakhine, Kayin, Kachin, Mon, Chin, Kayah and Shan. The ecological space differences in the residential area had a decisive effect on the lives and destiny of many different tribes living in each region. Rakhine region has long been wide open to the western Indian world, while traffic in Myanmar's central plain has long been cut off by the rugged mountain range from the west to the northeastern part of India. In particular, Banga, which includes Chittagong, has long had close political and historical ties with Rakhine. Thus, the long settlement of Muslims from the west, including Banga, into the Rakhine region was a very natural phenomenon. The Muslim community formed in today's Arakan region, and the historical basis for the Rahine Muslims' claim to be indigenous to Myanmar, starts from this spatial and geographical feature. The region, however, has not developed a homogeneous religious identity, and was absorbed into the Burmese Buddhist culture in the 18th century, leading to a primary change in ethnic identity. Since then, with the beginning of the British colonial era in the 19th century, the ethnic identity of the traditional era, which was relatively meaningless due to the introduction of Muslim labor force from India and the implementation of the census, has been enhanced. Because of this historical background, it is now possible to see Muslim groups being typed. Although there are controversies over the exact date of Muslim settlement, there is no denying that they have already lived there since the time of the Rakhine kingdom. They were, so to speak, the origin of the Rakhine Muslim. In the future, even if Myanmar's border with Bangladesh is to shift from the current violent escape zone to a stable area where border trade thrives, it should seek peaceful measures for Muslim groups today.
