Abstract
This study was to explore the experiences of people with diability regarding COVID-19 pandemic to promote inclusivity and resilience for disability community. In collaboration with disability human rights community, we interviewed eight people with physical or mental disabilities to examine their experience during the first pandemic year. A qualitative descriptive thematic analysis was utilized, resulting in four categories, 21 themes, and 71 sub-themes. Participants reported limited access to COVID-19 related information and communication tailored for people with disability, failures to medical resource allocation, oppression in daily life, and trauma of social exclusion and deprivation of dignity. Implications for future studies are discussed.
