자살자의 내·외적 요인분석에 관한연구-군 병사 자살자를 중심으로

군 자살은 군의 전투력 손실 및 군 기강 차원에서 반드시 예방해야할 중요한 문제이다. 본 연구에서는 군 조직에서의 실질적인 자살원인을 확인하기 위해 먼저 군 병사들의 자살에 대한 내·외적요인 분석을 통해 자살자의 심리적 특성을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2006년 1월부터 2012년 12월까지 발생한 232명의 자살자를 대상으로 25개의 변인에 대해 다차원적 척도(Multi-Dimensional Scaling: MDS)절차로 분석하였다. 그 결과 25개의 자살변인 중 내적요인에는 15개, 외적요인에는 10개의 변인으로 구분되어졌다. 자살유형의 경우 목맴자살과 투신자살은 내적요인에, 총기자살은 외적요인에 영향을 받았지만 병사 계급에 따른 자살은 내·외적인 요인의 영향을 받지 않았다. 이를 토대로 특히 내·외적요인에 대한 군 조직 측면에서의 예방을 강조하였다.
Abstract
Military Suicide is a critical problem that needs to be prevented for maintaining combat capability and military discipline. This study aims to understand the psychological characteristics of suicides by conducting analysis on internal and external factors of suicides committed by soldiers. 232 suicides occurred from January 2006 to December 2012 were analyzed on Multi-Dimensional Scale(MDS) with 25 variables. The result showed 15 variables to be affected by internal factors and 10 by external factors. Hanging and Plunging were influenced by internal factors, and Shooting by external factors. Soldiers' ranks, however, had no correlation with internal or external factors. Based on the analysis, this paper emphasizes on suicide prevention efforts on a military level, especially on internal and external factors.
