잠재계층분석을 통한 가정폭력 가해자의 하위 유형과 유형별 특성 연구

초록

본 연구에서는 가정폭력 가해자의 심리적 특성을 측정한 후 잠재계층분석(latent class analysis)을 활용하여 가정폭력범의 하위 유형을 분류하였다. 가정폭력은 가정이라는 테두리 안에서 발생하여 타인에게 목격될 가능성이 낮고, 가정 내의 문제라고 생각하여 외부의 개입을 받지 않으려고 하는 경향이 있기에 밖으로 드러나지 않는 범죄 중 하나이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 2021년 한 해에만 46,041건이 검거되었고 심각한 상해 및 살인으로 이어지는 경우도 적지 않다. 경찰 등에서는 가정폭력에 의한 피해를 방지하고자 가정폭력 가정을 분류하여 관리하고 있지만 모든 가정폭력범을 철저하게 관리하는 것은 현실적으로 불가능하다. 이러한 문제를 해결할 수 있는 방법 중 하나가 가해자를 분류하는 것이 될 수 있다. 가해자에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 특성을 확인하고 분류를 한다면 그에 따라 효율적인 방법으로 가해자를 관리할 수 있다. 연구를 위해 심리적 특성을 측정할 수 있는 설문지를 가정폭력을 저지른 사람들에게 배포하였고 최종적으로 연구에 사용할 수 없는 설문지를 제외하고 57명의 응답을 이용하여 연구를 진행하였다. 먼저 신뢰도 분석을 하기 위해 내적 일치도 계수(Cronbach's alpha)를 사용하여 설문지의 신뢰도를 확인하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 잠재계층분석에 이용할 문항을 선정하였다. 이후 잠재계층분석을 통해 가정폭력범을 성격장애적 유형, 가부장적 유형, 주취폭행 유형, 평균적 유형 등 4개의 유형으로 나누었다. 성격장애적 유형은 경계선적 척도와 반사회적 척도가 높은 것으로 나타났으며 전과가 있는 경우가 많았고 수입이 낮은 경향을 보였다. 가부장적 유형은 질투, 거부 두려움, 성차별적 척도가 높은 것으로 나타났으며 범행 시 흉기를 사용하는 경향을 보였다. 주취폭행 유형은 알코올 문제 척도가 높은 것으로 나타났으며 수입이 낮고 전과가 있는 경우가 많았다. 평균 유형은 다른 유형과 비교하여 특징이 없었으며 대부분의 척도가 평균 이하인 것으로 나타났다. 또한 배우자에 대한 불만족도는 모든 유형에서 높은 값을 나타냈다. 본 연구는 잠재계층분석 방법을 활용하여 국내 가정폭력범의 유형을 분류해보았다는 의의를 가진다. 이러한 분류를 바탕으로 가정폭력범을 이해하고 각 하위 유형의 특성을 파악한다면 가정폭력 가정의 관리 및 재발 방지 교육 등에도 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 것으로 기대할 수 있다.

Abstract

This study verified typologies of domestic violence by using latent class analysis. It is difficult to identify domestic violence because it occurs at personal places and both perpetrator and victim tend to conceal the seriousness of the problems. Nonetheless, numerous cases were reported every year. But it is not easy to deal with domestic violence. In this situation, classification of domestic violence perpetrators could be helpful to alleviate the problems. After we confirm the nature of people who commit domestic violence, it could be easier to devise effective strategy to eradicate problems. To carry out the research, we distributed questionnaires to facilities that measure psychological characteristics. We checked reliability and choose proper questions for latent class analysis. Next, latent class analysis was conducted with chosen questions and four typologies were verified. First, personality disorder group got high score on borderline and antisocial. They could have previous criminal records. Second, patriarchal group got high score on jealousy, dread of rejection and sexual discrimination. This group tend to use violence with weapons and are likely to be older than other groups. Third, alcohol related violence had high score on alcohol problem and they could have previous criminal records and low income. Finally, average group did not have any unusual score compared to other groups.
