Abstract
This study aims to provide a philosophical understanding of digital education as a significant element of the future of education that has been integrated into the revised 2022 national curriculum of South Korea. Drawing from Heidegger’s perspective on the essence of technology, it is argued that human understanding is shaped by its association with technology, which characterizes a particular era. This study examines the ontological understanding of digital technology and its correlation with humans by building upon the discussion presented by Yuk Hui. Hui expands the dimension of human understanding by analyzing digital objects as philosophical subjects, incorporating insights from Gilbert Simondon and Martin Heidegger’s discussion on technology. Through an analysis of digital objects, Hui aims to identify the fundamental nature of technology and establish a human understanding that addresses the challenge of forging a meaningful relationship with technology within the context of time. Based on Hui’s discussion, this study suggests the direction of the future of education in terms of digital citizenship, digital literacy, and production. With regard to the possibility of ethics, it presents humanity in relation to digital objects within the temporal dimension.
